This byway stretches along the Columbia River at the very bottom of Washington. The byway is enveloped in the spectacular setting of the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. If a wide variety of sites on one drive spark your interest, look no further. Columbia River Gorge Byway offers a number of thrills. A portion of the byway travels through a shadowy and cool national forest, while rushing, sparkling water cascading down hills forms a few spectacular waterfalls. Mere miles apart, the ancient petroglyphs at Horsethief Lake State Park and a full-scale replica of Stonehenge vie for your attention.
