Toledo Bend Country offers fun and excitement for the entire family. Toledo Bend is a 186,000-acre man-made reservoir filled with bass, bream, crappie and catfish that will delight the fisher in the family. For the golfer, the Cypress Bend Golf Course and the manicured greens and lush fairways of Toro Hills will offer a challenging and scenic round. The photographer in the family will marvel at Hodges Gardens, a majestic "Garden in the Forest" filled with magnificent flowers, cascading waterfalls, wildlife, hiking/biking trails, and scenic public areas.

Those who thrive on the rich history of the South and the El Camino Real will be transported back in time as they experience the village of Fisher, Fort Jesup and the lure of "No Man's Land." Browsing through the Museum of West Louisiana on South 3rd Street in Leesville, then strolling up the street to the Vernon Parish Courthouse, history buffs will be pleased. With the abundance of trees in Vernon Parish, nature-lovers can walk through the many forested areas to their hearts' wonder. Additionally, any water-sports enthusiast can find fun at Vernon Lake, Anacoco Lake, or world-famous Toledo Bend Reservoir. When each of the family's interests have been met traveling on the Toledo Bend Forest Scenic Byway, they can come together to enjoy the unique festivals that Fisher, Florien, Many, Pleasant Hills and Zwolle offer throughout the year.
