Blue Route

20.5 miles -

In 1955, the Pennsylvania Department of Highways drew three colored lines on a map, representing three possible routes for a Mid-County Expressway through the Brandywine Valley region of Southern Pennsylvania. They chose the Blue Route, and this Pennsylvania byway has been known as the Blue Route ever since.

Experience the history and culture of Brandywine Country along the Blue Route with several museums and living historical exhibits such as the Colonial Plantation in Ridley Creek State Park.
