This byway takes travelers on a scenic route from Greensboro to Chapel Hill. The route took on the name of "Football Road" as fans repeatedly used it to reach University of North Carolina games. In addition to its reputation as football road, the route is also a designated bicycle route for recreational riders. The byway includes scenic qualities in its pastoral surroundings. Visitors will see dairy farms, creeks, and ponds. The byway also features historic sites dating from Revolutionary War times. This road is a pleasant drive between two of North Carolina's larger cities and offers more than football memories.
